Books are amazing.  Not only do they hold countless stories and secrets, but they also provide an unbeatable sustenance required for the development of young minds.

Reading to our children is not only an unique opportunity to spend time and bond with them, but also positively impacts their academic future.  Studies have shown that 90% of a child’s brain development occurs before they are five years of age – reading is fundamental to well rounded development.

Reading books to children helps to develop language, listening, logical thinking and concentration skills, whilst also stimulates imagination and understanding.

At Timber Tots, reading is central to our children’s ongoing education and developmental journey.  Through our library program our educators encourage all of our kids to borrow a book every day.  We have seen such excitement generated through this endeavour and continue to see the growth attributed with reading books!
