Our Educators, family and friends recently had the amazing opportunity to meet and hear from John Coutis (JC).

Born in the late 60’s, in an era which did not benefit from the medical advances our world has witnessed the past 50 years, JC was only given 1 day to live. One day went passed and turned into a week. That week became a year. Until today, JC recently celebrated his 50th birthday!

JC battled incredible odds ‘being different’. However, through mental strength and resilience John was able to succeed and fulfill his desires to perform on stage for people of all walks of life, anywhere in the world.

JC discussed with our team a number of topics. From goal setting, to resilience, to taking responsibility for our actions. He passed on stories from his childhood and put many issues we face into a greater perspective.

Three key themes were sent home with the team.
1. Always write down your goals. Short, medium and long term. Make them achievable and if you start something – FINISH IT.

2. Start taking responsibility. Responsibility always starts with us. We must take responsibility for our actions, what we say and what we do and therefore we should take the time to listen and think before we act.

3. Give everything your 100%. Not 110%. Not 120%. If we give whatever we start our 100% and we can always be proud of our achievements.

An amazing story and an amazing person. Thank you for your insights!
